Although the issues discussed were not made public, the meeting is seen as part of ongoing efforts to promote dialogue, peace and cooperation among Rivers political leaders.

Wike and Fubara had been involved in a political dispute that attracted national attention, but recent engagements have focused on reconciliation and rebuilding relationships.

The meeting comes ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political observers watching how renewed interactions among major stakeholders could influence Rivers politics.

Beyond political interests, the gathering highlights the importance of dialogue and unity in addressing differences among leaders in one of Nigeria’s most politically significant states.
