Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, foiled a terrorist attack during separate operations in Kaduna State.
Acting on intelligence, the troops ambushed suspected terrorists in Rijana, Kachia Local Government Area, forcing them to flee.
Soldiers later recovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine loaded with 13 rounds of ammunition and other military items from the area.
In another operation at Awom village, the troops arrested a suspect identified as Mr. Jacob with a locally made pistol and seven rounds of ammunition.
The suspect is in military custody and is being investigated.
The military praised the troops for their professionalism and vowed to continue operations against terrorists and other criminals in the area.
