Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have arrested three suspected terrorist logistics couriers carrying ₦2.7 million suspected ransom money and recovered 14 kidnapped victims during separate operations in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, confirmed this in a statement issued issued to newsmen on Saturday in Katsina.
Lt. Ol. Danja said: “On September 24, 2026, troops of Sector 2 intercepted the three suspects travelling on a motorcycle with the cash and three mobile phones.
According to him, preliminary interrogation indicated that the money was being conveyed to a terrorist kingpin through intermediaries in the area.
The suspects and recovered items have been taken into military custody for further investigation.
He said in a related development, troops acting on intelligence about terrorist movements in Faskari established an ambush and engaged the fleeing terrorists.
A subsequent search of the area led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, 30 rounds of ammunition and a motorcycle.
