The committee will focMovesus on increasing wheat production, livestock development and other staple crops across the country.
Vice President Kashim Shettima inaugurated the committee on Tuesday during a high-level meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
He urged members to work together and develop practical strategies that would quickly improve the agricultural sector.
The committee includes representatives from key ministries, government agencies and agricultural institutions.
Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, said the meeting also reviewed challenges facing farmers and ways to expand dry-season farming.
He said President Bola Tinubu had directed the Vice President to identify obstacles slowing agricultural growth and find lasting solutions.
Kyari added that the committee would coordinate efforts across relevant agencies before submitting its recommendations to the Vice President and the President.
