Federal Government has confirmed a case of Ebola in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, involving a woman who arrived on an international flight from Uganda.
The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, says the patient is currently in isolation and receiving treatment.
He said the health authorities have identified 44 close contacts, while public and private health facilities nationwide have been placed on high alert.
The Federal Government urged Nigerians to remain calm, maintain proper hygiene and report suspected cases to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.
