The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has released the full composition of its National Campaign Council, directorates and state campaign structures ahead of the 2027 general elections, naming former Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, former Kano State Governor, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, and several prominent political figures to lead its nationwide campaign.
The party said the campaign structure is designed to provide strategic leadership, coordinate activities across the country and mobilise support for its presidential ticket in the build-up to the 2027 elections.
According to a statement by the party, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, the NDC National Leader, will chair the National Campaign Caucus, while the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, will serve as Co-Chairman.
The National Chairman of the party, Senator Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, was named Vice Chairman, while the vice-presidential candidate, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, will serve as Co-Vice Chairman.
Other members of the caucus include former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; Senator Ovie Omo-Agege; Senator Victor Umeh; Engr. Buba Galadima; Prof. Yakubu Ochefu; Prof. Mahmud Gambo Jahun; Hon. Moshood Salvador; Mrs. Dudu Manuga; Hon. Victor Ogene; Hon. Muktar Usman and several senior party officials.
The NDC also appointed Babachir Lawal as Chairman of its National Campaign Advisory Council, with Senator Zuwoghe as Co-Chairman, former Ebonyi State Governor, Dr. Sam Egwu, as Vice Chairman and Barrister Ikenna Morgan Enekweizu as Secretary.
The advisory council includes representatives from the Federal Capital Territory and 36 states, among them Prof. Pat Utomi, Chief Achike Udenwa, Okwesilieze Nwodo, Roland Owie, Oseloka Obaze, Tunji Soyinka and other political leaders.
Mallam Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim was confirmed as Director-General of the Presidential Campaign and will oversee the party’s nationwide operations.
To strengthen its campaign, the NDC constituted more than 30 specialised directorates covering media and communication, new media, policy and research, legal affairs, finance, security and intelligence, election monitoring, diaspora mobilisation, youth and women mobilisation, civil society engagement, ICT, logistics, medical services, protocol, welfare and organisation.
Retired Major General John Enenche was appointed Director of Security and Intelligence, while veteran journalist Ikeddi Isiguzo will serve as Deputy Director of Communication and Media. Dr. Constance Ikokwu was named Campaign Spokesperson.
The party also unveiled campaign coordinators for all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Among them are Senator Nkechi Nwogu for Abia, Bamanga Tukur Jr. for Adamawa, Ken Pela for Delta, Prof. Ben Odoh for Ebonyi, Martins Agbaso for Imo, Peter Ameh for Kogi, Ife Salako for Lagos, Prince Rwang Pam for Plateau, Zubi Nwuke for Rivers and Dr. Stephen Knabayi for the FCT.
The NDC said the newly inaugurated structures would spearhead grassroots mobilisation and coordinate campaign activities across the country ahead of the 2027 polls.
The party stated that the campaign would be people-focused and issue-driven, with the goal of presenting what it described as a credible alternative for Nigerians.
It urged members and supporters to remain committed to the party’s mission.
“We call on all party members, supporters, and well-meaning Nigerians to remain united and focused as we work together to rescue our country,” the statement said.
It added: “A new and working Nigeria is possible.”
