President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Thursday for Makkah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, the lesser Islamic pilgrimage.
The President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja.
He said the spiritual journey will give President Tinubu the opportunity to reflect, worship and pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and continued progress.
Onanuga added that while in the Holy City of Makkah, the President will perform the religious rites associated with Umrah and seek Allah’s guidance and blessings for the country and its people.
Before leaving Abuja, Tinubu will commission newly acquired operational equipment for the Nigerian Air Force at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. The equipment is expected to strengthen the operational capacity of the Air Force.
The President is scheduled to return to Nigeria next week after completing the spiritual exercise.
The trip comes as the administration continues efforts to address security and economic challenges across the country.
