Aiyedatiwa said the late nationalist devoted his life to justice, good governance and the development of society, earning the respect of people across the country.

He also extended his condolences to the Fasoranti family, the people of Akure Kingdom and residents of Ondo State over the loss of the elder statesman.

According to the governor, Pa Fasoranti’s death marks the end of an era, but his legacy of patriotism, courage and principled leadership will continue to inspire future generations.

Pa Fasoranti was one of Nigeria’s most influential Yoruba leaders and served as the national leader of Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation. Throughout his public life, he remained a strong advocate of democracy, restructuring, justice and national unity.

He was widely respected for speaking on major national issues and consistently championed policies aimed at promoting fairness, equity and good governance.

His death comes after a century of service to humanity, during which he played key roles in Nigeria’s political and democratic development.
