The newly elected leadership of the Nigerian Licenced Ship Chandlers’ Association (NILSCA) has assumed office with a clear agenda to strengthen the ship chandling profession, improve service delivery and enhance the competitiveness of Nigerian ship chandlers.
The new administration has identified professionalism, accountability, transparency, quality service, digital transformation and stakeholder engagement as key priorities.
Speaking on the new direction, NILSCA National Publicity Secretary, Kevin Eluemunor, CEO, Round Edge, said ship chandlers occupy a critical position in Nigeria’s maritime supply chain and must consistently meet the standards expected by ship owners, operators, managers, agents and other stakeholders.
“This is a new chapter for NILSCA. Our objective is clear: raise professional standards, improve service delivery and build greater confidence in Nigerian ship chandlers.”
The association will focus on strengthening service standards, improving response and delivery times, promoting transparent commercial practices, enhancing quality control, encouraging digital adoption and expanding professional development for members.
The new leadership will also deepen engagement with ship owners, ship managers, vessel agents, terminal operators, regulatory agencies, port authorities and other maritime stakeholders to address industry challenges and develop practical solutions.
Eluemunor stressed that the reputation of the association depends on the collective performance of its members.
“Every client should be able to engage a licensed Nigerian ship chandler with confidence—knowing that the service will be professional, the products reliable, the pricing transparent and delivery timely.”
He called on all licensed ship chandlers to support the new administration and embrace a culture of integrity, professionalism, quality and customer satisfaction.
“This is not simply a change of leadership. It is an opportunity to build a stronger, more credible and internationally competitive Nigerian ship chandling industry.”
The new leadership reaffirmed its commitment to representing members’ legitimate interests while working constructively with clients, government institutions and the wider maritime community.
